CE Workshop | Yoga Videos 101: Grow Your Audience, Grow Your Income, 2013 Business of Yoga Conference

In her talk at the 2013 Business of Yoga Conference, "Yoga Videos 101: Grow Your Audience, Grow Your Income," Kellie Adkins (E-RYT 500) explained the fundamentals of creating compelling online videos that will grab your viewers' attention and, in turn, can attract more students to your business.

Kellie reminded us that to engage with someone, “the best possible thing you can do is communicate” with him or her “face-to-face.” It’s impossible to do this with everyone you’d like to reach, but, as Kellie points out, “video is the next best thing” for connecting with more people and, ultimately, growing your audience online and off.

CE Workshop | How to Use Marketing to Serve Your Customers, 2013 Business of Yoga Conference

When you understand what emotionally drives people to practice yoga, you can cater your marketing and services to meet their needs. Jacob Griscom, president of Everyday Ayurveda, explained during his 2013 Business of Yoga Ttalk, "How to Use Marketing to Serve Your Customers," that understanding why someone practices yoga allows you to focus on what's motivating them to enter your studio.

CE Workshop | Teacher Management to Transform Your Studio: A Panel Discussion, 2013 Business of Yoga Conference

Where do you find yoga teachers who share the vision you have for your yoga studio? What expectations should you set for teachers? How much should you pay them? At the 2013 Business of Yoga Conference, moderator Carissa Ciuca tackled those topics and more with panelists Rob Walker, Lynn Bushnell and Mary Catherine Starr during a discussion, "Teacher Management to Transform Your Studio".

CE Workshop | Tell the World Who You Are: Effective Writing for Yoga Teachers, 2013 Business of Yoga Conference

You don't need a degree in journalism or English to know how to write effectively about yourself as a yoga teacher or about your studio. You do, however, need to know that every time you write, you play the role of storyteller whose goal it is to hook the audience in and keep them engaged. During her 2013 Business of Yoga Conference talk, "Tell the World Who You Are: Effective Writing for Yoga Teachers," Bliss Network co-owner Felicia Tomasko, E-RYT 500, recommended embracing silence to aid in the brainstorming process – that includes silencing your inner critic as a way to free your mind as a writer. She also advised using strong action verbs instead of fluffy filler in your messaging.
